FAQ’s
WordPress is a web design and building platform.
You’ve probably heard of other website platforms such as Squarespace and Wix.
I prefer to use WordPress as it includes many more options for website design and customisation.
I only design websites on WordPress.
However, I can provide design and technical support if you are building your own website on Wix, Weebly, GoDaddy, Squarespace or WordPress.
Visit The Website Repair Shop for support
I don’t design websites for hosting elsewhere.
The websites I design rely heavily on the commercial plugins and software I use to provide functionality.
For your website to work elsewhere you would have to purchase individual licenses for all plugins and software making it prohibitively expensive.
Once we have set a date to start your project, and have agreed the contract, you will receive an invoice for 50% deposit in your chosen currency, either UK£, US$ or Euro€.
Then, once the project is complete and ready to launch, you will receive an invoice for the remaining 50% to be paid before the website goes live.
At this time we will also set up your ongoing monthly hosting payments.
This is all further detailed in our contract.
I am not VAT registered so there is no additional VAT added to my quoted prices.
My currently lead time for website design is roughly two weeks.
We will discuss during your intake how long you need to gather all the required resources for your project and will set a start date accordingly.
If you have all your resources all ready, I can sometimes squeeze a project in sooner so do ask.
I design websites for both UK and international clients however I please keep in mind I only design English language websites.
In actual fact, this website design and hosting service is probably perfect for you.
As I host your website as well as designing it, I won’t be running away with your money and hiding as soon as you’ve paid.
I’m in this with you.
I’m always on hand for whenever you need any help or assistance with your website.
You can choose to be hands on in editing your site or leave it all to me and I’ll do all the tech stuff for you.
At the heart of every great website design is great content.
Your content should be a reflection or extension of you. When I view and read your website I should get a very good sense of who you are and what it’s like to work with you.
Once you are all signed up, I will forward a homework pack which includes ll the details of everything you need.
Some examples:
- Domain name details either for purchase or pointing,
- Photographs of you and you working,
- Words and copywriting in your personal language talking style
- Access to and embedding code for any software you want integrated with your website.
- Optionally video content
You can edit your website through a simplified WordPress admin area. I provide detailed instructions and personal support when making edits yourself.
You can also take advantage of your 30 minutes of free edits every month and get me to take care of all that stuff for you.
It’s totally up to you.
